Celtic FC Foundation donate £10,000 to Clutha Appeal Fund

CELTIC FC Foundation is delighted to make a £10,000 donation to the fund established to help those affected by the Clutha Bar helicopter crash.

The Clutha Appeal Fund was formally launched by Glasgow City Council to support anyone facing hardship as a result of the accident.

Nine people died when a helicopter crashed through the roof of the pub on Friday evening.

The tragedy both stunned and shocked the city as a whole, and now via the charitable arm of the club, Celtic Football Club is pleased to show support to those who need it most.

Earlier this week, the Celtic manager Neil Lennon visited the scene of the crash and laid a commemorative wreath on behalf of everyone at the club.

Speaking near to the scene, he said: “It´s an unforeseen tragedy that´s affected the whole city, and the city is united in grief at the minute. There´s an eerie atmosphere around the place at the minute, which you can understand.

‘It´s very difficult for me to find the right words at this time but, on behalf of myself and the club and the Celtic support, we´re all thinking of you and you´re very much in our thoughts and prayers at this time.’
